Having the vet really wash out his ears did work. He was clear of ear infections for a week. At $200+ a deep ear washing this wasn't cutting it. After a week of no infections we were back to the stinky, phewwwiee, yeasty, peeling/flaking inside ear skin infections in one or both of his ears. He would scratch at his ears with his paws and sometimes the inside of his ears would bleed.
I went through the Standard vet sponsored "Talk" about, allergies to grass, to food, maybe even you! After listening to this speech from 2 vets at the same animal clinic, it left me feeling like it was hopeless. I was never going to find and cure the root of my pups plague. "The Icky smelly ear infection syndrome". The infected ears would cause his eyes to gunk up as well. Eye bugger city. Really gross because it just came on coming. Clean up his sweet little face at the start of the day. Continue doing this 5-7 times a day until bed time. Start all over again the next day.

I was becoming more and more alarmed that all this infection may harm my pups hearing long term. I was spending at least a hour on his ear cleaning a day. Get my hopes up that it would clear up and be gone. Only to have the cycle start again.
I tried 4 different ear washes. I went through 3 treatments from my vet. I even tried going holistic with vinegar and olive oil.

The skin on the inside of his ears is grey with a bit of healthy pink.
